Fair Isle Flakes Tester Parade!

It’s been one whole year since Fair Isle Flakes first appeared in American Patchwork & Quilting, and what better way to celebrate than by sharing the beautiful tester versions my friends stitched up?

First up is Delia of @a_stitch_is_a_stitch .
One of my favorite things about Delia’s quilt is the soft gray background— it lets that snowflake shine! Her warm, thoughtful palette gives the whole piece a cozy, curl-up-with-a-blanket feeling that lasts all winter long.

Delia has been testing for me since my very first pattern release. Her eye for color, her thoughtful notes, and her generous suggestions have helped shape my work in countless ways. But the best part? Somewhere in the middle of all the fabric pulls and pattern edits, we became real friends—and that’s the part I treasure most.

Christmas stockings!

A couple of years ago, I stitched these up using a lovely tutorial by @shesewcurly, and truly—what a joy they were to make. Choosing the layout, the fabrics, and the quilting design for each one felt like creating a tiny love letter for the person it was meant for. And next year, I get to make another… because grandbaby #3 arrives in June!
