My Patriotic Plaid blocks are all finished, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!
The soft colors and tiny floral prints make such a sweet combination for a subtle patriotic-inspired table runner. My favorite detail, though, is that one of the fabrics belonged to my grandmother, which makes this project feel even more special.
Now it’s time to stitch everything together and turn these treasured fabrics into a piece that will be enjoyed for years to come.

A softer take on patriotic quilting.
While most patriotic quilts lean into bold reds and navy blues, I found myself reaching for sea glass teals, sweet ditsy florals, and softer shades of red and blue for my Patriotic Plaid QAL blocks hoated by American Latchwork and Quilting magazine. @allpeoplequilt
These little star center units are giving me all the vintage summer vibes—think cottage gardens, porch swings, and sunny afternoons with a sewing project in hand.
I’m completely smitten with how they’re turning out and can’t wait to see these blocks become a quilt.
