Shop – Heart Lake Quilts

I was recently given a collection of fabric and sewing treasures that belonged to both of my grandmothers: pretty bits of vintage trim, spools of antique thread, buttons with years of history, old wooden hoops, and small scraps of fabric left over from quilts they lovingly pieced together.

I wanted to create something special to hang in my sewing space, where I could see and appreciate these little pieces of their lives each time I walk in.

With embroidery floss, hot glue, a few new trims and labels, and these well-loved bits of sewing history, I brought everything together into a keepsake that feels like a small window into their creative lives.

Now, their stories are stitched into a place where I can continue my own.

I can’t remember if I’ve shared the Counterhearts quilt I made for my granddaughter, but now that she’s 4 months old, I think it’s time!

I love how this one turned out. The sweet fabrics, the beautiful quilting by my dear friend Amy, and the soft minky backing make it extra snuggly and special. A quilt made with so much love for a very special little girl.
